Chow Hounds
Most chow hounds are not acquired through rescues, they are rarely found in a rescue situation.
The breed may be prone to hip dysplasia and eye disorders. These dogs are not very active and can be laze sometimes. Yet regular exercise is essential for the dog to keep fit. The longevity is about 15 years on the average.

This is one of the oldest breeds that was common in China where it was used for guarding purposes. The breed has retained some of its personality qualities and is still very dominant, which requires much training. These dogs are suited for people who are ready to devote much time to training. Most chow hounds are not acquired through rescues, they are rarely found in a rescue situation.
